Iowa Corn Growers Appreciates Governor Reynolds’ Decision to Veto HF 639

Governor Reynolds vetoed the anti-pipeline bill (HF 639), preserving Iowa’s right to pursue carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology. The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) released the following statement:   

“Governor Reynolds’ decision to veto HF 639 is a win for Iowa’s corn farmers, ethanol industry, and economy. Iowa is the world’s leader in corn and ethanol production, and now there is an opportunity to increase demand for ultra-low carbon fuels, a market that Iowa deserves the ability to pursue.
