Majority of Crops in Fairly Good Condition After Frost Events

The majority of crops came thru last week’s frost events in fairly good condition.

Shannon Friesen is Saskatchewan’s Cropping Management Specialist:

"Luckily enough most of the vulnerable crop hasn't been seeded yet or has barely emerged. Majority of crops had minimal damage so it appears most came through just fine."

"84% of field peas have been seeded, 80% of lentils, 78% of peas, 63% for durum, 57% for mustard, 51% for spring wheat and 39% of canola has now been seeded."

She says this week’s crop report shows 51% of the provincial crop is now in the ground.
