Minimum wages increasing in five provinces effective October 1

Minimum wage rates are increasing in five provinces across Canada effective October 1, 2025.

Ontario moves from $17.20 per hour to $17.60.

Manitoba moves from $15.80 per hour to $16.00.

Saskatchewan moves from $15.00 per hour to $15.35.

Nova Scotia moves from $15.70 per hour to $16.50.

Prince Edward Island moves from $16.00 per hour to $16.50.

The federal minimum wage is currently $17.75 per hour, which applies to all businesses that are federally regulated.
