Ohio Corn & Wheat Joins Call For E15 Along Ohio Turnpike

The Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association is urging lawmakers to support legislation that would allow for the installation and sale of E15 at Ohio Turnpike service plazas.

The proposal, introduced by Representatives Josh Williams and Roy Klopfenstein, directs the Ohio Turnpike Commission to install E15 pumps at service plazas along the Turnpike.

The proposal turns one of the state’s most heavily traveled roadways into an opportunity to showcase the benefits and quality of homegrown biofuels. Installing E15 pumps at Turnpike plazas would help drive new demand for corn while increasing consumer awareness of a fuel that is already approved for use in nearly all vehicles on the road today.

Installing E15 pumps along the Ohio Turnpike would provide a meaningful boost to demand while supporting jobs and economic activity across rural Ohio. The state’s ethanol industry already supports thousands of jobs and provides an important market for Ohio grain.
