Spotted lanternfly workshops planned for Essex County

Recent sightings of spotted lanternfly in Ontario’s Essex County emphasize the importance of a shared effort to be aware of this pest. The Invasive Species Centre will be holding workshops at the Ojibway Nature Centre, 5200 Matchett Rd., Windsor, on Wednesday July 22, at 9-11 a.m. and repeated at 6:30-8:00 p.m. Participants will learn about spotted lanternfly’s impacts, how it spreads, and how to detect and prevent it.

The workshop is open to grape and tender fruit growers, vineyard, nursery, greenhouse and woodlot owners and managers, arborists, landscapers, government and conservation authority staff, students, gardeners, and members of the public.
