Sustainable U.S. Soy Takes Off in the Americas Region

Today, many people look to live in a way that helps the environment and works for a better future. Food selection is one of the many ways they are doing that. In 2020, the impact of environmental sustainability on food purchases jumped from 27% the previous year to 34%.

Products made with Sustainable U.S. SoyTM are an excellent option for those looking for nutritious and environmentally friendly alternatives. U.S. Soy is a reliable, affordable, and complete plant-based protein, and U.S. soybean farmers strive to be the ultimate stewards of the land through their commitment to sustainable farming and constant innovation.

By 2025, U.S. soybean farmers aim to:

  • Reduce land use impact by 10%.
  • Reduce soil erosion an additional 25%.
  • Increase energy use efficiency by 10%.
  • Reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by 10%.

The U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) is at work in Mexico, and countries in Central and South America, to promote the benefits of sustainable production with importers, processors, and crushers, as well as raise awareness among consumers that they can buy products containing soy that was grown sustainably in the United States. USSEC provides education and insight to advance the use of sustainable U.S. Soy in the Americas through different activities and programs.
