Taste of Maine potato chip factory to open in spring 2026

After numerous technical delays, construction is underway on a 96,000-square-foot potato chip plant on the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Aroostook County, Maine. The $55 million investment is by Taste of Maine Potato Chip Company headquartered in Presque Isle, Maine.

The plant is expected to be operational by April 2026, initially using four kettles to produce kettle chips and later expanding to eight.

The facility is expected to use more than 1,500 acres worth of Aroostook county potatoes. Months of delays were related to wastewater permits.
