The Communications and Marketing Coordinator with Sask Pork Expects Canada U.S. pork sector partnerships and preparing for the next generation of pork producers and researchers to be among the hot button topics at Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium 2026 in Saskatoon.Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium 2026, set for November 3rd and 4th in Saskatoon, brings together pork sector stakeholders from across North America to discus issues and learn about the latest technology.Sask Pork Communications and Marketing Coordinator Steve Seto says there's always something that can be a hot-button topic, year in and year out.

Quote-Steve Seto-Sask Pork:

I think what is on a lot of people's minds is things going on south of the border and making sure that we are continuing to build our relationships. There is a little bit of uncertainty there at times. That's always going to be a big discussion point. But I think we are continuing to build on all of our relationships with all of our partners south of the border to make sure that we do have those continued relationships and strong relationships.

That has always been on the top of people's minds lately. When we talk about what's important to producers and people working in the barn, biosecurity, herd management, as well as just shaping the next generation for the next producers who are coming in, as well as the next researchers that are coming in.And making sure that we have a strong, viable industry moving forward, not only in the coming months, but in the coming years and decades. That's why it's always important to highlight the students who are submitting posters into our poster competition, as well as the student oral presentations that we do every year.
It's important to highlight those students and those people who are going to be working in the industry for years to come and highlight the work that they're doing.

So really, I think the big topic is just kind of be looking forward and being optimistic about the people that are coming into the industry and ready to make a difference and working alongside with them.
