USDA Rural Development Announces Loan Guarantee for New Beef Processing Facility in Dimmitt, Texas

Vice President J.D. Vance announced an investment through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program (B&I Program) to support construction of a locally owned, USDA-inspected beef processing facility in Dimmitt, Texas. The facility, backed by a $24.6 million commercial loan, will process approximately 400 head of cattle per day and is expected to create 220 new jobs.

“President Trump and Vice President Vance have been steadfast in their support of ranchers and small businesses who are working to rebuild our Great American Cattle Herd. That’s why we are so pleased to have Vice President Vance announce USDA’s newest investment in a locally owned beef processing facility right here in West Texas,” said Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins. “This new facility will process 400 head of cattle a day, and create 220 new jobs in the great Texas community of Dimmitt.”

The project was initiated by 36 local investors who are involved in raising cattle throughout the Texas Panhandle.
