Variable Manitoba Yields, Although Mostly Above StatsCan Estimates

The final crop report of the year for Manitoba indicates a generally up and down growing season, with some strong yields in those areas that received adequate rainfall and relatively poorer results in the drier regions. 

Overall, however, provincial yield estimates for most crops are above those reported by Statistics Canada in its September crop production report. (StatsCan will release its final yield estimates for the season in December). 

According to the Manitoba report, 96% of the provincial harvest was complete as of Tuesday, a couple of points ahead of the five-year average.
