On Jan. 17, 1962, Georges Vanier, the governor general, delivered his throne speech in the only session of Canada’s 25th Parliament. The speech charted the country’s path forward under the leadership of Prime Minister John Diefenbaker.
Individuals in attendance heard the government planned to introduce legislation to increase the funds of the Farm Credit Corporation, and that a national conference on ag training would occur in the fall.
