California Drought

One of the worst droughts on record severely impacted agriculture in California. In August 2015 it was estimated that 92 percent of California was suffering from severe drought. The University of California Davis Center for Watershed Sciences estimated the economic impact of the drought to be about $1.84 billion and 10,000 people could lose their jobs. The drought became so severe that Governor Jerry Brown implemented mandatory water reductions.
