The United States-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement was enacted on May 15, 2012.

The deal immediately removed tariffs from U.S. farm equipment and fertilizers, while tariffs on wheat, barley, soybeans and other products were phased out over 15 years.

Since the agreement came into effect, U.S. ag exports to Colombia have nearly tripled from US$1.1 billion to US$2.9 billion in 2018.
