7 Pieces of Art Showing Ag

The Farmer's Wife

The Farmer's Wife

Pablo Picasso completed this charcoal drawing in 1908.

The model for the subject was a 58-year-old woman named Madame Putman. Standing at more than six-feet (1.8 meters) all, Picasso was interested in her size and shape. He eventually completed seven drawings of the woman as she did her chores because she was too busy to pose, The Metropolitan Museum of Art says.
