New scholarships support Canadian agriculture students in 2026
AgCareers has announced the return of its Feed Your Future Scholarship program for 2026, continuing its efforts to support the next generation of agriculture professionals in Canada. The program is designed to help students achieve their educational goals while encouraging growth, innovation, and leadership within the agriculture sector.
This year, AgCareers has expanded the scholarship program by introducing opportunities for both current college students and graduating high school students interested in agriculture-related studies. The organization says the change reflects growing interest in agriculture careers among young people and its commitment to strengthening the industry's future workforce.
“We already know many high school students are passionate about making a difference and pursuing careers in agriculture and food," said Bonnie Johnson, Marketing & Communications Manager, AgCareers.
She added, “When our team attends events such as trade and farm shows or speaks to younger students at 4-H workshops, they are eager to explore the diverse careers in agriculture and food and, of course, have shown a keen interest in the Feed Your Future scholarship as they approach the end of their high school days.”
According to AgCareers, many students are eager to learn about the wide range of careers available in agriculture and food production. Through participation in farm shows, trade events, and youth programs, the organization has seen increasing enthusiasm from students who want to make a positive impact on the industry.
Under the 2026 program, one scholarship will be awarded to a Canadian college student enrolled in an agriculture-related program who has at least one semester remaining in their studies. Another scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Canadian high school student planning to pursue post-secondary education in agriculture.
Applications for both scholarships are currently open and will be accepted until November 20, 2026. The updated application process encourages students to share their career goals, passion for agriculture and food, and ideas for promoting the value of agriculture to people outside the industry.
Applicants will also be asked to explain what inspired their interest in agriculture and how receiving the scholarship would support their future plans. These questions are intended to highlight students' commitment to the industry and their vision for its continued success.
