Program supports agtech startups with funding mentorship and industry access

The AGTECH ACCELERATOR, powered by Cultivator and Conexus, has opened applications for its fifth cohort. This program brings agriculture and technology together to support young companies developing solutions for global farming challenges. It is designed with the needs of founders and farmers in mind and aims to help startups grow through real-world testing, expert guidance, and strong industry connections./

Canadian and UK agtech startups selected for the program will take part in a fast-paced three-month journey. This includes both online and in-person learning, business development support, and a final showcase at Ag in Motion 2026, western Canada’s largest outdoor farm expo. The accelerator helps founders meet mentors, investors, and farmers who can help shape their products for commercial use.

“The AGTECH ACCELERATOR is a leading Canadian agtech program with growing recognition on the global stage,” said Cultivator Director Laura Mock. “What makes the accelerator so powerful is how it brings together founders, farmers and industry partners to validate innovation and engage technology testers for commercial-level adoption. Cultivator also showcases the program’s founders to investors looking to deploy capital to help these startups grow.”

The accelerator has already shown strong results. Over four cohorts, it has supported 62 agtech companies that have raised $161.9 million in private capital, generated $118.5 million in revenue, received $76.4 million in public funding, and created 316 new jobs. These achievements highlight the impact of connecting entrepreneurs with the agricultural community.

Participants also hear from past founders, including Jill Sharko of AgScouter, who says the program gave her valuable mentors, business tools, and strong ties within Saskatchewan’s agtech network.

Applications for AgTech Accelerator Cohort Five are open until January 9, 2026. Founders interested in joining can apply online and access full program details.
