Ontario Federation of Agriculture has agreed to share the digital version early

Regular letter delivery may be returning to normal at Canada Post, but magazine delivery is still lagging significantly behind.

Based on these Canada Post delays, once again the Ontario Federation of Agriculture has agreed to share the digital version of the January 2025 issue of Better Farming Ontario early.

Better Farming Ontario is a subscription-based magazine, and OFA members receive a copy of the magazine as part of their OFA membership.

Normally, the digital version is posted several weeks after the paper copy arrives in mailboxes, but with the on-going postal delays related to magazines, it can already be enjoyed online.

The January 2025 Better Farming Ontario issue is packed with the latest agriculture concepts and ideas.

David and Carolyn Biesenthal are featured on the front cover, as well as in the feature article “A Look Back; A Step Forward“ which is a look at Dr. David Biesenthal’s career in agriculture.

Other feature articles included in the January issue of Better Farming Ontario include:

  • Review your crop rotation – crop rotation could be an opportunity to supplement your regular crop income.
  • Picking the Right Seed – the most important task for the winter months is picking the right variety/hybrid for the 2025 growing season.
  • Mobile Butchers – a look at how on-farm butchers are helping the livestock industry.
  • Honouring Ag Mentors - Ontario farmers credit key figures for their farming success & insight.
  • Weed Control – Timely applications and new tech drive weed control success.

Demco's dual auger grain cart is designed for unloading efficiency, operator visibility, and safety in the field.

This dual-auger design features both an unload auger and a floor auger for enhanced grain cleanout and consistent flow, and the 22-inch unload auger is capable of moving up to 600 bushels per minute.

Farmers can also choose between right or left-handed unload options—right-handed unload improves visibility from the tractor cab. A new design allows both vertical and horizontal movement for precise grain placement during unloading.

Another key feature is the built-in fire safety system; a 300-gallon onboard water tank with a hose reel that provides field-ready fire suppression capability.

These dual auger grain carts are available in 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, and 2200 bushel sizes.
