Precision Planting Introduces an Innovative and Customizable Planting System

Have you heard of Precision Planting’s CornerStone planting system?

Farms.com caught up with Bryce Baker, Precision Planting’s marketing director, to learn more about this fully customized planting system loaded with innovative hardware.

CornerStone integrates high-performance components with an ergonomic design, providing a complete, customizable solution for farmers.

Unlike previous retrofit components, the CornerStone system includes the entire steel structure of the row unit along with Precision Planting’s cutting-edge technology.

This combination allows for seamless upgrades to existing planters or the construction of new planters with the help of Precision Planting dealers, says Baker.

The system supports all existing Precision Planting components, such as vDrive, SpeedTube high-speed delivery, FurrowForce, Reveal, and DeltaForce.

It features trailing gauge wheels for smoother operation and optimized row unit performance.

The disc opener angle and contact point are agronomically enhanced to clear soil efficiently and reduce the “W” bottom effect.

A standout feature is the full-size rear-tipping hopper, available in three-bushel, 1.6-bushel, or mini sizes.

This hopper pivots from the rear, making it easier to access components like the seed tube or meter without handling heavy loads. This ergonomic design simplifies maintenance tasks, saving you time and effort.

The CornerStone Planting System is set for a limited commercial release in 2025, providing you with advanced planting solutions in customizable configurations.

Evolution of Beef Cattle Farming

Video: Evolution of Beef Cattle Farming

The Clear Conversations podcast took to the road for a special episode recorded in Nashville during CattleCon, bringing listeners straight into the heart of the cattle industry. Host Tracy Sellers welcomed rancher Steve Wooten of Beatty Canyon Ranch in Colorado for a wide-ranging discussion that blended family history and sustainability, particularly as it relates to the future of beef production.

Sustainability emerged as a central theme of the conversation, a word that Wooten acknowledges can mean very different things depending on who you ask. For him, sustainability starts with the soil. Healthy soil produces healthy grass, which supports efficient cattle capable of producing year after year with minimal external inputs. It’s an approach that equally considers vegetation, animal efficiency, and long-term profitability.

That philosophy aligned naturally with Wooten’s involvement in the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, where he served as a representative for the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association. The roundtable brings together the entire beef supply chain—from producers to retailers—along with universities, NGOs, and allied industries. Its goal is not regulation, Wooten emphasized, but collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement.
