According to a new report from CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange, farmers may continue facing higher fertilizer costs for the next several years as global supply issues and international conflicts keep nutrient markets under pressure.

Industry analysts expect fertilizer prices to remain above historical levels through 2028, even though they have eased from previous record highs.

The market continues to be affected by supply chain disruptions, limited raw material availability, and uncertainty in key fertilizer-producing regions.

The Middle East remains an important supplier of fertilizer products and raw materials to global markets. Any disruption in the region can affect the movement of nutrients such as sulfur, ammonia, and urea, which are critical for fertilizer production.
