A video circulating online indicates the manufacturer is leaving Canada

John Deere is again playing defense against misinformation after an AI video circulating online suggests the manufacturer is leaving Canada.

“These claims are false,” Jenni Badding, public relations manager with John Deere, told Farms.com in an email.

The claims come from a 17-minute YouTube video titled “Canada ERUPTS as John Deere CUTS OFF Production - Carney EXPLODES As Factory Moves To U.S!”

The video is a compilation of clips from Canadian and American media outlets used to paint a picture of John Deere’s apparent dissatisfaction with Canada and overall struggles in the ag manufacturing industry while an AI narrator provides additional commentary.

“Staying in Canada wasn’t high risk, it was suicidal,” the narrator says. “No manufacturer survives in a market that refuses to move, and Canada’s policies didn’t just cool demand, they strangled it until there wasn’t a single pulse left.”

John Deere has multiple distribution centres in Canada, including in Edmonton, Alta., Regina, Sask., and Grimsby, Ont.

Deere’s lone production facility manufactures forestry equipment in Langley, B.C.

John Deere used to have an attachment and utility vehicles manufacturing plant in Welland, Ont.

The company closed that facility in 2009 to move production to plants in Wisconsin and Mexico.

A YouTube channel called Canadian Hub posted the video, which has garnered more than 220,000 views, and almost 1,500 comments in four days.

The channel is described as a “daily source for Canadian news and updates.”

The channel’s profile on YouTube indicates it was created in March 2016 in the United States, has more than 10,000 subscribers and 59 videos available.

The oldest video available on the channel was posted on Sept. 9, 2025.

That video, titled “Canada Just EXPLODED After Alberta Confirms INSANE Pipeline Deal!!” follows a similar pattern of piecing together clips from different videos with a narrator to support the content.

These recent claims of John Deere moving production are the second to target the equipment manufacturer in 2025.

In June, an MSN article titled “John Deere Freezes US Manufacturing in Unprecedented Shutdown” started to grain traction online.

In response, John Deere issued a statement highlighting its commitment to invest $20 billion into American manufacturing in the next decade.

“Over the next decade, we will continue to make significant investments in our core U.S. market. This underscores our dedication to innovation and growth while staying cost-competitive in a global market,” John May, chairman and CEO of John Deere, says in the release.

The MSN article has since been taken down.

Video: California Farm Bureau 2025 Farm Dog of the Year Contest Winner - Willy - CAFB 107th Annual Meeting

Meet Willy: California Farm Bureau’s 2025 Farm Dog of the Year!

We’re excited to introduce Willy, a miniature long-haired dachshund with a big heart and even bigger courage, and the Grand Prize winner of this year’s Farm Dog of the Year Contest!

Willy may be small, but he’s become an indispensable partner on owner Marshal Hagedorn’s forestry and cattle operations in Shasta, Tehama, and Siskiyou counties. Adopted in 2023, he quickly found his place on the ranch, helping manage critters, tagging along for long days in the woods, and offering unwavering companionship during demanding logging work.

Willy has even taken naturally to moving cattle, surprising calves (and more than a few full-grown cows!) with his burst of energy from the tall grass. As Marshal put it: “He goes with me everywhere every single day.”

Congratulations to Willy and his family, a perfect example of how every good farm dog, no matter the size, helps keep California agriculture running strong.
