MM 1102 and MM 1302 boost forage quality and harvesting efficiency

KUHN has introduced the latest additions to its hay and forage equipment lineup with the launch of the Merge Maxx® MM 1102 and MM 1302 triple hay mergers. The new models are designed to help large dairy farms and commercial hay producers improve productivity while maintaining forage quality.

The MM 1102 and MM 1302 are built to handle demanding harvesting conditions. Both machines feature ISOBUS controls, a heavy-duty 42-inch conveyor belt, and a redesigned floating windguard. These upgrades help move crops smoothly, create even windrows, and improve overall field performance.

One of the key features is the floating windguard, which helps reduce crop loss while forming uniform windrows. Consistent windrows allow forage to move more efficiently into harvesting equipment, supporting faster and more reliable operations.

The new mergers are also equipped with high-capacity hydraulic systems and a wide belt designed to handle large volumes of forage. This allows operators to work effectively in dense crop conditions while maintaining a steady crop flow.

Operator convenience is another major focus. The IntelliMerge® ISOBUS control system places important machine controls in one easy-to-use interface inside the tractor cab. The system also provides real-time machine information to help operators monitor performance.

To improve reliability, the machines include commercial-grade pickups with split bearings and anti-wrap discs that help reduce wear. A spring belt tensioning system and OptiSense belt stall detection technology work together to prevent blockages and reduce downtime during harvesting.

“The Merge Maxx® MM 1102 and 1302 are designed for operators who demand maximum throughput without compromising crop quality,” said Travis Wolf, Hay & Forage Product Manager. “These machines deliver smooth, efficient merging even in dense, high-yielding forages, helping operators make the most of every cutting window.”

With a strong focus on productivity, crop protection, and ease of operation, the MM 1102 and MM 1302 offer a dependable solution for commercial hay operations seeking improved harvesting efficiency.

Video: Grazing Sheep Despite Heat, Humidity & Wildfire Smoke!

At Ewetopia Farms, we are still grazing sheep despite the oppressive heat and humidity confounded by the added dense smoke from hundreds of wildfires burning in Northern Ontario. It is proving a challenge for the health of our sheep as well as us as farmers who have no choice but to work outside during these adverse conditions.
