New baler and windrower updates boost efficiency and productivity

New Holland has announced major updates to its hay and forage equipment lineup with the introduction of the Speedrower® 1 Series self-propelled windrowers and Model Year 2027 Roll-Belt™ 1 Series round balers.

The new equipment is designed to help hay and forage producers improve productivity, manage tight harvest windows, and make more informed decisions in the field.

The Speedrower® 1 Series includes four models ranging from 161 to 308 peak horsepower. The machines feature faster field and transport speeds, a larger fuel tank, and an upgraded cooling system designed to maintain performance during demanding operating conditions.

“Hay and forage producers face constant and evolving pressure across every aspect of their operations, from maximizing crop and bale quality to helping teams work more efficiently in tight harvest windows,” said Alex Berwager, product go-to-market manager for New Holland North America.

He added, “These Roll-Belt round baler updates are designed to make every day baling easier, more consistent and more productive. With practical improvements like net wrap protection, durability, in-cab control and factory-fit automation, we’re helping operators work with greater confidence, even in demanding conditions.”

A key addition to the Speedrower® lineup is Relative Yield Monitoring. This technology creates real-time yield maps and stores information through New Holland's FieldOps™ platform. Growers can use this data to evaluate crop performance and support future management decisions involving irrigation, nutrients, and field planning.

The windrowers also include AutoFloat header flotation technology, an upgraded IntelliView display and ride-enhancing suspension systems to improve operator comfort during long workdays. The machines are compatible with several header options, giving producers flexibility for different harvesting conditions.

New Holland has also enhanced its Roll-Belt™ 1 Series round balers. The updated balers feature a new net protection system that helps reduce net damage during bale ejection, particularly when working in heavy crop residue conditions.

Additional durability improvements include larger rollers and stronger bearings in key wear areas. These upgrades are intended to improve machine reliability and support long-term performance.

The balers also introduce the new Bale Command™ 8 touchscreen monitor and factory-fit IntelliBale™ automation. These features simplify setup, improve operational control, and help reduce time spent preparing equipment for use.

“When New Holland launched the Speedrower PLUS Series in 2022, we said it was the building block for the future,” said Jordan Milewski, self-propelled windrower product marketing manager for New Holland North America.

He added, “The Speedrower 1 Series represents the next evolution of that vision by bringing together more power, more productivity, more performance and more precision technology to help growers make smarter decisions both in and out of the field.”

To make equipment selection easier, New Holland has updated the naming structure of its Roll-Belt™ 561 balers. The lineup now includes Hay Special, Specialty Crop, Silage Special and Bale-Slice™ models, each designed for specific crop conditions and harvesting needs.

Both the Speedrower® 1 Series and Roll-Belt™ 1 Series balers are available for pre-order through New Holland dealers. The machines will also be showcased at the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa.
