Proven Vegetable Seeds Gain New Spotlight

Field proven varieties celebrate reliability and long-term grower success

Seminis® has introduced a new initiative called the Seasoned Vegetables Campaign to recognize vegetable varieties that have consistently performed well for growers over many years. The campaign highlights products that have proven their reliability through changing market conditions, economic pressures, and varying growing environments. 

“Successful seasons are built on reliability, and that’s becoming harder to come by,” said Emily Standley, Communications Manager for Bayer Vegetable Seeds US/CAN. “The Seasoned Vegetables Campaign recognizes both the products and the collaborations that have stood the test of time. These products aren’t just part of our history; they remain a critical part of growers’ success today.” 

The campaign focuses on varieties that have delivered strong yields, high quality, and dependable harvestability for more than eight to ten years in commercial production. These products have helped growers build successful operations by providing steady performance across multiple regions and seasons. 

According to company representatives, the campaign celebrates both the varieties and the long-term partnerships formed with growers. While innovation remains important, the initiative also recognizes that lasting success comes from products that continue to perform reliably year after year. Many of these varieties have become industry benchmarks and support consistent supply to markets. 

As part of the campaign, Seminis® introduced the Clockwork Series, where each variety carries a “Years Proven” designation. This label highlights how long a product has demonstrated strong field performance. Varieties selected for this program must meet strict standards, including long-term reliability, quality performance, high commercial adoption, and proven success in real farming conditions. 

The campaign was officially launched during an industry event hosted by the American Seed Trade Association in San Diego. Growers and industry partners were given an early look at the campaign video and the products being honored. 

Highlighted varieties include Huntington Peppers with 14 years of field performance, Ironman Broccoli with 15 years of proven results, Aristotle X3R Peppers with 16 years of reliability, and Obsession Sweet Corn with 16 years of proven success. 

Through this campaign, Seminis® emphasizes that agricultural innovation includes not only new technologies but also trusted products that continue to deliver value over time. By balancing new developments with dependable seed options, the company aims to help growers maintain productivity, profitability, and stability for their farms and communities.
