Two-Day Event Offers Beef Production Training and Industry Networking
Beef cattle producers will have an opportunity to learn new management practices, connect with industry professionals, and strengthen their operations during the 2026 Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo and Master Beef Producer Program in Greeneville, Tennessee.
The annual event, organized through the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and UT Extension, is designed to provide practical and research-based information to help producers improve beef cattle production. The program is expected to attract cattle producers from across Tennessee and neighboring states.
The Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo will take place on October 15 at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center. The full-day event will feature educational presentations, live demonstrations, industry discussions, networking sessions, and a trade show featuring agricultural businesses and service providers.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from Extension specialists, industry representatives, and livestock experts. Topics will focus on current challenges and opportunities in the beef industry, helping producers make informed decisions that support herd health, productivity, and profitability.
In addition to educational sessions, the event will provide a valuable opportunity for producers to exchange ideas and experiences with fellow cattle operators. Networking events remain an important part of agricultural education because producers often learn practical solutions from others facing similar challenges.
“We hope producers will take advantage of the opportunity to spend a day — or both days —learning, networking and connecting with fellow beef producers from across Northeast Tennessee,” said Sarah Orr, UT-TSU Extension Cocke County director and agriculture and natural resources agent.
For producers seeking more advanced training, the Northeast Tennessee UT Master Beef Producer Program will be offered on October 15 and 16. This expanded educational program is designed for producers who want a more comprehensive understanding of beef cattle management. Registration for the Master Beef Producer Program automatically includes admission to the Beef Expo.
The Master Beef Producer Program will cover a variety of topics related to herd management, production practices, and long-term business success. Participants will also have access to additional educational opportunities that can contribute to farm improvement and professional development.
As part of the advanced program, producers will be able to earn Beef Quality Assurance certification. This certification helps reinforce responsible cattle care practices and supports consumer confidence in beef production. Participants can also qualify for private and commercial pesticide applicator points, providing additional value for those involved in crop and pasture management.
Organizers encourage producers to take advantage of both days of learning. The event offers a combination of classroom instruction, industry interaction, and practical information that can be applied directly to the farm.
Educational programs such as the Beef Expo continue to play an important role in supporting the livestock sector. By sharing the latest research, production techniques, and management strategies, these events help producers remain competitive in a changing agricultural environment.
The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture continues to support farmers through research, education, and outreach programs. Its efforts connect producers with the latest scientific knowledge and practical solutions that address real-world farming challenges.
Early registration is encouraged for both programs. Organizers note that registration fees increase closer to the event date, making advance planning beneficial for interested participants.
The 2026 Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo and Master Beef Producer Program offer a valuable opportunity for cattle producers to expand their knowledge, strengthen professional connections, and gain tools to improve the success of their beef operations.
