Company boosts investments in youth agriculture and community events

State and county fairs remain one of the strongest symbols of agriculture across the United States. Every year, these events bring together farmers, ranchers, families, students and local businesses to celebrate agriculture, rural traditions and community spirit.

This year, Tractor Supply is expanding its involvement by supporting more than 1,000 fairs nationwide. The initiative represents the company's largest investment in fairs to date and highlights its long-standing commitment to rural communities and agricultural education.

For generations, fairs have served as a place where agriculture comes to life. Livestock shows that crop exhibits, horticulture displays, and educational demonstrations provide opportunities for people to learn about farming while celebrating local achievements. These events also help connect consumers with agriculture and provide a better understanding of where food comes from.

"State and county fairs are part of Life Out Here. They bring together family, community, hard work, and agriculture -- things that matter deeply to Tractor Supply," said Neil Tenzer, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Pet Health at Tractor Supply. "From young people showing livestock through 4-H and FFA to families carrying on traditions for generations, fairs celebrate agriculture today while helping inspire the next generation. We're proud to be part of that."

A major focus of Tractor Supply's support is helping young people involved in agriculture. Many students participating in 4-H and FFA programs spend months preparing livestock projects, educational exhibits and competition entries before arriving at a fair. Through these experiences, they learn important life skills such as responsibility, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance.

The company continues to invest heavily in agricultural youth development. Its support for FFA includes scholarships and educational opportunities designed to help students pursue careers in agriculture, skilled trades and other industries that support rural America. Tractor Supply has contributed millions of dollars to FFA programs over the years, helping future leaders achieve their educational goals.

"We are thankful for Tractor Supply's continued investment in agricultural fairs and the important platform these fairs provide in giving young people the opportunity to show livestock and helping us educate the public about agriculture and where their food comes from," said North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler.

The company also maintains a strong partnership with 4-H, supporting programs that encourage leadership development, career exploration, and hands-on learning experiences. These initiatives provide young people with valuable opportunities to build confidence and prepare for their future.

Beyond youth development, fairs contribute significantly to local economies. Large fairs attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and generate economic activity for nearby businesses, tourism operators, restaurants, and hotels. Many fairs also use revenue to fund scholarships, grants, and community outreach programs.

Community involvement remains a key part of Tractor Supply's strategy. Local stores and team members frequently participate in agricultural fairs and events throughout the year, helping strengthen relationships with customers and rural communities. The company's support extends through sponsorships, educational exhibits, product donations, and family-friendly activities.

"When a young person walks into the show ring, you are seeing the result of months of commitment, care and hard work," said Molly Ball, National FFA Foundation President. "Whether they leave with a ribbon or simply knowing they gave it their best, they leave with something even more valuable--confidence, responsibility and an understanding of what it means to see something through. We are grateful to Tractor Supply for helping create more of those opportunities for the next generation."

Several major fairs across the country are receiving expanded support this year. These include events in Tennessee, Washington, and North Carolina, where Tractor Supply is participating in agricultural education programs, livestock activities, and community celebrations. The company is also increasing its presence at major state and regional fairs to connect with agricultural families and showcase the importance of farming traditions.

While entertainment attractions often draw attention at fairs, agriculture remains at the center of these events. Livestock competitions, educational displays and youth participation continue to highlight the hard work and dedication that support food production and rural life.

"Fairs are such an important part of the 4-H experience because they bring together so much of what young people learn throughout the year to help prepare them for their future careers--whether it be in agriculture, skilled trades or other pathways," said Heather Elliott, Chief Development and Marketing Officer, National 4-H Council.

She added, "You see 4-H'ers putting their skills to work, supporting one another in the barn and the show ring, and learning firsthand what perseverance looks like. Whether they leave with a ribbon or the pride of knowing they gave it their best, those experiences stay with them. Tractor Supply understands the value of that journey and helps give young people the tools, experiences and encouragement to succeed at the fair and well beyond it."

As agricultural communities face new opportunities and challenges, fairs provide an important platform for learning, networking, and celebrating accomplishments. They also help inspire the next generation of farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals.

By expanding support for more than 1,000 fairs nationwide, Tractor Supply is helping preserve agricultural traditions while encouraging future growth. The company's investment reflects the ongoing importance of fairs as places where agriculture, education and community come together to create lasting impact for future generations.
