Marian Van Hoek Leads BASF Canada

BASF Canada has announced the appointment of Marian Van Hoek as its new Managing Director, effective July 1, 2025. In her new leadership role, Van Hoek will oversee the Canadian operations of BASF, a global leader in chemical manufacturing and innovation. 

Van Hoek brings a strong background to her new position, having joined BASF Canada in 2015. Over the past decade, she has held several key roles within the company, including Legal Counsel, Senior Counsel, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. She was also an active member of the Canadian Leadership Team and Executive Committee. 

“I am honoured to take on the role of Managing Director at BASF Canada,” said Marian Van Hoek, BASF Canada Managing Director. “I look forward to building on our established success in the Canadian market, and together, with the BASF Canada team by my side, enhancing our performance and delivering innovative, sustainable solutions that benefit both our customers and communities." 

Van Hoek holds a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Western University, equipping her with both legal and strategic insight into corporate leadership. 

Headquartered in Mississauga, BASF Canada is a subsidiary of BASF SE and an affiliate of BASF Corporation in North America. With over 1,100 employees across the country, the company reported sales of $2.6 billion in 2024.
