You will find ‘Dunvegan Fields’ just 7 miles south of Fairview, Alberta, and 6 miles east of the Historic Dunvegan, the site where the North West Company established a fur trading post at Fort Dunvegan. ‘Dunvegan Fields’ is not to be confused with the Dunvegan natural gas field that was discovered by JC Anderson in 1970 and is located just five miles to the northwest. Dunvegan Field is recognized as one of the largest producing gas finds in Canadian History.
