Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program announces Raffle Winners

The Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP) is pleased to announce the winners of the raffle held as a part of the fundraising activities planned in support of the AALP executive development program and the current AALP Class 17. The raffle raised about $10,000 to be put toward the program costs for Class 17. A number of the raffle prizes were generously donated, and tickets were sold by members of the previous AALP Class 16 for $5 per ticket.

“Knowing that not everyone is able to attend a fundraising event on a specific day, our class was looking for a fundraising activity that would allow a lot of people to support AALP in an easy way,” says Adrienne Houle, co-chair of the 2018 AALP Dream Auction. “A raffle is a great way to include these supporters and we are very pleased with the success of the draw.”

The winners of the raffle were announced live on Facebook on Friday, October 27. The winners are: Prize #1: Niagara-on-the-Lake Getaway to Woodbourne Inn, Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery, Chateau des Charmes Wines, Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery & Distillery and PondView Estate Winery. Winner: Christine Dukelow, Beaverton, ON

Prize #2: The Muskoka Experience donated by Hidden Valley Resort. Winner: Pete Overdevest, Bright, ON

Prize #3: Experience Norfolk Package donated by Long Point Eco-Adventures, Blue Elephant Restaurant and Craft Brew House, the Barrel Pizza & Pasta Restaurant and Norfolk County Tourism. Winner: Troy Hamilton, Atwood, ON

Prize #4: VISA gift card donated by Symons Wern and Smith Accounting and AALP Class 16. Winner: Erica Murray, Seaforth, ON

“We thank all of the prize donors and those who supported the AALP raffle, and of course congratulate all of the winners,” said Andy McTaggart, co-chair of the 2018 AALP Dream Auction. “We encourage everyone to join us in Guelph in February for the AALP Dream Auction gala!”

The raffle was the first of three fundraising activities planned, with an online auction to come in January 2018 and the AALP Dream Auction gala event planned for February 10, 2018 at the Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre. The Dream Auction will feature live and silent auctions throughout the evening. The committee is requesting items for the auction, so those wishing to make a donation can do so online at aalpdreamauction.com/donations.
