Bayer Appoints New Vice President of Communications for Crop Science North America

By Ally Roden

Bayer recently announced that its former director of strategic communications, Ben Kampelman, has been appointed to vice president of communications, Crop Science North America, according to a release.

In this new position, Kampelman will head activities under internal and external communications, such as “corporate reputation, media relations, employee communications and digital communications” for Bayer’s North American Crop Science division, shared the release.

“From his many years with the company, Ben brings a vast knowledge of our business but combines that experience with an optimism for the future of agriculture and how Bayer can realize its vision of Health for All, Hunger for None,” commented Beth Roden, senior vice president and head of communications for Bayer U.S. “His expertise will be key in continuing to drive communications and support the reputation of our largest division in our largest region.”

Kampelman attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism. His career began over 20 years ago at Monsanto as a communications associate. Since that role, Kampelman has held positions ranging throughout the communications, operations and marketing fields. He has worked with internal communications among the U.S. sales division, headed the coordination of communication within the technology organization and acted as a marketing manager to create brand messaging for one of Bayer’s key herbicide tolerance platforms. Kampelman previously worked within Bayer’s global investor relations department where he led investor communication and presentations before transitioning to the communications team.
