CFA and Indigenous group commit to collaboration and reconciliation

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food (NCIAF) with the goal of building stronger collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous agricultural producers across Canada.

The MOU reflects a shared commitment to advancing dialogue and food security through sustainable agricultural practices — grounded in both traditional Indigenous knowledge and modern innovations.

NCIAF President and CEO Kallie Wood said the partnership is more than just a memorandum; it’s a commitment to reconciliation in action.

“By joining forces with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, we’re creating space for Indigenous voices, knowledge systems, and leadership to be recognized and elevated within the national agricultural landscape,” Wood said. “Together, we will build pathways that honour the past, seize opportunities in the present, and cultivate a more prosperous and sustainable future for all agricultural communities in Canada.”
