Cover More Acres in Less Time with the John Deere R4060 Sprayer

Cover More Acres in Less Time with the John Deere R4060 Sprayer

If you need a sprayer that can tackle a large area efficiently in a short amount of time, Deere has the perfect solution for you. The R4060 Sprayer with the new CommandDrive™ powertrain is the company’s biggest sprayer yet, and it can handle a wide array of tasks to make your workday easier.

Let’s take a look at some of the features of the R4060 Sprayer and how it can help you out in the field.

CommandDrive

The R4060 Sprayer comes standard with CommandDrive, an intelligent powertrain that uses a single hydrostatic pump to power all four variable-displacement wheel motors. In the event that one or more wheels lose traction, the system adjusts to slow the slipping wheels and directs more flow to the other wheels with traction. In general, the powertrain helps the sprayer easily handle hills, soft soil, and other conditions where traction is needed.

CommandView III Cab

Within this cab, key sprayer controls are more easily accessible to the operator on the redesigned CommandARM control panel. In addition, the multifunction handle has a more ergonomic fit and feel, with six reconfigurable buttons. Finally, the GreenStar display has been upgraded to a faster, more user-friendly 4600 CommandCenter display, which makes it easier for operators to capture, manage, and transfer data.

ExactApply™ System

With the ExactApply system, operators can increase productivity up to 20 acres per hour through wider spray speeds and rate ranges. Customers can also better manage drift and improve spray quality as they work.

Boom Swing-Link Suspension

With the boom swing-link suspension, there is more stability, and operators can ultimately make fewer passes through the field. The enhanced design allows the boom to unfold and fold faster, and the additional stability means increased productivity out in the field, as the boom can now more accurately maintain spray height above the crop.

Load Command™ System

With the Load Command system, operators can now load at speeds as fast as 1500 L/min. This means more time can be spent spraying, ultimately boosting productivity and efficiency.

Solution Command System (SCS)

The SCS has been completely redesigned to allow for quicker, easier operation at the load station, regardless of skill level. The system also features a micro-display that provides real-time feedback on all system operations.

Eric and his wife Anne have run beech grove farm since 1983 and they do things a little differently (like farming with horses) but they dry farm which we discuss, they use some cover crops in the paths in interesting ways (also discussed) and in fact, we get into a whole digression about their deer fencing that you’re gonna wanna hear.
