Delegate nominations open for 2026

Alberta Beef Producers’ (ABP) delegate nominations open September 1, with positions available across all five zones.

“Serving as a delegate is one of the best ways to get involved in Alberta’s cattle industry,” says Doug Roxburgh, Chair, ABP. “Delegates represent the needs and ideas of producers in their zone, keep producers informed on the latest from ABP, and participate directly in decision-making that shapes the future of Alberta’s beef industry.”

Becoming a delegate is also a great way for beef producers to expand their personal and professional network, provide leadership to the industry, and stay informed on the issues and opportunities facing Alberta beef producers, he adds.

If you are passionate about Alberta’s cattle industry, 18 years or older, and have paid check-off in the last two years, consider running as a delegate in your zone.

If you know someone who would be an excellent delegate, consider encouraging them and offering to serve as their nominator.

In Queen Anne in Queen Anne’s county, Farmer David Denny works hard to raise hundreds of chickens so that they may reach regular growth milestones on schedule. This is important because poultry integrators like Purdue require the chickens to be a certain size and weight in a set number of weeks. How can such a feit be accomplished so consistently in such a short period of time? It’s all due to the birds' carefully planned diet, which is tailor-made to meet their nutritional needs. The process begins long before any chickens even arrive on the farm all thanks to Farmer David and the grains he grows throughout the year. These grains are in turn used to create the exact feed which provides the necessary nutrients to the David Denny Farm’s poultry.
