DowDuPont Agriculture Division announced today that it is launching a new premium global seed brand - Brevant™. Seed products bearing the Brevant™ brand are initially planned for Latin America, Canada and selected European countries in 2018.

"We are excited to announce the Brevant™ brand that, as we progress toward the creation of the standalone Agricultural Company, will join the Pioneer® brand as the Agriculture Division's premium global seed brands," said Tim Glenn, Agriculture Division Seeds Business Platform vice president. "Growers can trust seed products bearing the Brevant™ brand because they will be backed with the latest seed innovations and proven to deliver outstanding results."

The Brevant™ brand will serve existing customers of the Agriculture Division by replacing the Coodetec and Biogene® brand products in Brazil. The Brevant™ brand also will replace the Dow Seeds® brand over the coming months following the merger of Dow and DuPont."

The Agriculture Division is committed to serving customers through multiple brands and multiple channels that address geographic and demographic buying preferences," said Glenn. "In addition to our two global seed brands, we will continue to offer quality country- and region-specific seed brands that complete one of the broadest, most diverse seed portfolios in the world."

The global launch of the Brevant™ brand was unveiled in Cascavel, Brazil, at the Show Rural Coopavel (Farm Show) - one of the region's most important farm shows.

"I am proud to showcase the Brevant™ brand at the Coopavel, an important event for the Brazilian agribusiness market," said Roberto Hun, Agriculture Division leader for Brazil and Paraguay. "Our commercial and technical teams will work close to the dealers offering the best technology and services to the growers."

Gowan Canada is partnering with Geco Strategic Weed Management to help Canadian growers take a strategic approach to weed control through data-driven prediction and planning.

Geco’s technology uses data and AI to map where weeds have been over the past five years and predict where patches are likely to emerge next season. These insights allow farms and retailers to plan ahead and target actions in the most challenging areas.

“Our technology enables the question: if you could know where your most problematic patches are and where they are spreading to, what could you do differently? That’s what our technology makes possible,” said Greg Stewart, CEO of Geco. “Many of our farms are already using our prescriptions along with Gowan products, so this collaboration is a natural next step.”
