Join AASV’s Exclusive Swine Health Update Event

AASV Hosts Members-Only Session at Pork Expo 2025

The American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) will host a members-only session during the World Pork Expo on Thursday, June 5.

This exclusive event will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM CDT at the Elwell Family Food Center, located on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

There is no cost to attend, but access is limited to AASV members, with membership verification required at the door.

Chaired by AASV Vice President Chris Rademacher, the session will begin with a welcome at 1:00 PM, followed by a presentation from Anna Forseth on the proposed HPAI H5N1 response plan for the swine industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions regarding the plan.

At 1:35 PM, Dusty Oedekoven and Meredith Petersen will introduce the National Pork Board’s National Swine Health Strategy.

Member feedback on the strategy will be facilitated by Mark FitzSimmons at 2:10 PM. The session will conclude with closing remarks from Rademacher at 2:45 PM.

This meeting offers AASV members a valuable platform to engage with key industry topics and contribute to shaping future health strategies for the swine industry.
