McKinsey To Recommend Growth Strategies At Dairy Forum

Aggregate U.S. dairy consumption is projected to be relatively flat, and dairy will have increased competition, according to new research by McKinsey & Company, Inc., a global consulting firm and advisor to many of the world's leading private, public and social sector institutions. Internationally, McKinsey says growth in dairy consumption is concentrated in a handful of emerging markets but shows potential for expansion.

Industry specialists at McKinsey & Company have worked closely with IDFA to examine these and other trends in the domestic and global dairy industry. They will present ways that dairy companies can prosper in this changing landscape at Dairy Forum, January 24-27, in Phoenix.

“Amidst a complex global trade environment and an intensifying competitive landscape, U.S. dairy companies must face the challenge of achieving growth,” said Paul Carbonneau, partner at McKinsey & Company. “That is why our team interviewed and surveyed a representative cross-section of dairy leaders to get a 360-degree perspective on competing in the dairy market today.”

Due to the width and breadth of the study results, Dairy Forum will dedicate two general sessions to the results of the McKinsey study. On Monday, January 25, Carbonneau and his colleague Ludovic Meilhac, associate partner at McKinsey & Company, will discuss the findings and share recommendations and strategies for dairy companies. On Tuesday, January 26, a panel of dairy leaders will discuss the implications and applications of the McKinsey research.
