Protein Industries Canada begins search for new CEO

Protein Industries Canada says they are looking for a new chief executive officer.

The organization announced Robert Hunter was no longer CEO, a position he held since January.

Board Chair Tyler Groeneveld said they have initiated the search for a new CEO to ensure a smooth transition and to continue advancing the organization’s mandate.

“The Board of Directors’ priority is the long-term sustainability and operational success of the organization,” Groeneveld said in a news release. “Protein Industries Canada will continue to advance our strategic plan, The Road to $25 Billion. We remain committed to strengthening Canada’s plant-based ingredient and food processing sector.”

Groeneveld said as one of Canada’s five Global Innovation Clusters, Protein Industries Canada will keep delivering on its mission of growing the country’s plant-based food, feed and ingredient sector.

No reason was given for Hunter’s sudden departure.
