Pulse Growers Student Award 2014

Looking for a topic for a course paper or project? Why not choose pulses and submit it for the Pulse Growers Student Award? This award recognizes post-secondary students for excellent pulse-related projects and encourages student discussion around pulse agronomy, economics and processing. APG recognizes it is important to to connect with the next generation of specialists and offer opportunities for students to participate directly with industry.

The award is open to all students from any year of study enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program related to agricultural or food studies who are submitting a major project for a course. The submission can originate from any agronomy, agricultural economics or food science based course (i.e.: Entomology, Plant Science, Crop Production, Animal Science, Weed and Pest Management, Ag-Economics, Soil Science, Agri-Business Management,  Food Science, etc. ). Projects need to be able to be submitted in written format to be eligible. Evaluation criteria includes grammar, spelling, and excellent writing skills; relevance or importance to the pulse industry; factual and accurate (no fiction); and all projects must include references.

2014 Deadlines are April 15 and December 15. Recognition of the selected winner will include a $500 cash award and potential to be featured in APG publications. Submissions will become property of Alberta Pulse Growers Commission. For more information or to submit a project.
