Bio based lubricant maker celebrates milestone with community leaders

Renewable Lubricants recently celebrated 35 years of manufacturing environmentally friendly and food grade lubricants, highlighting its long journey in sustainable innovation and industrial development.

The milestone event was marked by visits from local and federal representatives who toured the company’s Ohio manufacturing site and recognized its contribution to the region.

“It was an honor to host Representative Workman and River Kale from Congressman Joyce’s office for a tour of our manufacturing plant,” said Renewable Lubricants VP Ben Garmier.  “As the largest and oldest North American manufacturer of renewable lubricants, we appreciate them celebrating our 35 years of manufacturing in Ohio”.

During the visit, State Representative Heidi Workman and representatives from Congressman David Joyce’s office learned how bio-based lubricants are developed and blended to serve different industries. The tour focused on the company’s manufacturing process, which blends agricultural resources with advanced technology to create high performance lubricants.

“Thank you to Renewable Lubricants for the opportunity to tour your facility and celebrate your 35th anniversary. It was an honor to present a commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives recognizing this important milestone and the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation, job creation, and economic growth in our region,” said State Representative Heidi Workman.

“Renewable Lubricants has made a lasting impact in Portage County, and I appreciate your continued investment in our community,” said Workman.

As part of the celebration, company founder Bill Garmier and President Jacqueline Garmier were presented with certificates to honor more than three decades of business growth. The recognition reflected the company’s commitment to innovation, job creation, and consistent investment in the local economy.

Renewable Lubricants leaders shared that hosting public representatives was a proud moment, as it allowed them to showcase their work and their roots. The company began on a farm and has grown into a global manufacturer while maintaining strong ties to agriculture and sustainability.

State leaders praised the company for its role in supporting economic development and for building products that are safer for the environment and for workers. Renewable Lubricants has become an important contributor to Portage County through steady employment and long-term investment.

The company produces a wide range of products that replace traditional petroleum-based lubricants. Its portfolio includes hydraulic and industrial lubricants, food grade lubricants, automotive lubricants, and marine lubricants. These products often perform better than conventional options while reducing environmental impact.
