SDSU Extension Hosts Community Garden Field Day in Watertown

South Dakota State University Extension will host a field day at the Foundation Field Community Garden in Watertown on Aug. 6, 2026.

The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT. It is free to attend, and no registration is required. It will feature expert presentations in garden soil, plant diseases, pesticide safety, insects, weeds and general gardening strategies.

“Bring your gardening questions to ask SDSU Extension experts,” said Hans Klopp, SDSU Extension Soil Health Field Specialist.

Klopp is among the evening’s speakers, which also include Robin Butterbaugh, SDSU Extension Horticulture Field Specialist; Cody Molnar, SDSU Extension Horticulture Plant Pathology Field Specialist; and Stephen Robertson, SDSU Extension Pesticide Education Field Specialist.
