Season 10 Seed Speaks Preview — The Wild World of Weather

In the agriculture and seed worlds, there’s so many aspects to focus on. Agronomic traits such as disease and pest resistance, the equipment needed to grow and harvest seed, the end uses of the seed once it’s grown and needs to be sold, are all things those working in the industry have some amount of control over. However, the source of energy for all things seed and agriculture is weather. On this season of Seed Speaks we’re taking a closer look at how weather impacts the seed industry and what we’re doing to fight back against this challenge we can’t control.

The 10th season of Seed Speaks starts on Oct. 11 and is entitled the Wild World of Weather.

Weather impacts everything when it comes to agriculture. You can’t grow seeds if you don’t have the right weather conditions for that seed, and you also can’t harvest seed if you don’t have the right weather conditions. Weather can be unpredictable, and it’s the one of the aspects that we can’t control. In this season of Seed Speaks we’ll talk about all things weather.

Season 10 will take a deep dive into weather from forecasting and natural disasters to how plant breeders are fighting back against wild weather, we’ll talk with experts to bring you the latest information.

Join us every Wednesday at 12 p.m. CDT on Seed World U.S., Seed World Canada, Seed World Europe and the Alberta Seed Guide’s Facebook pages, Seed World U.S.’s LinkedIn page and Seed World Group’s YouTube page to watch. We’ll be kicking off season 10 on Wednesday, Oct. 11, when Rebecca Carmeli-Peslak has some expert panelists on to speak about El Nino versus La Nina.
