Secretary Rollins Highlights Policy Priorities in Kansas Agriculture Roundtable and Top Producer Summit Fireside Chat

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins traveled to Kansas and Missouri, respectively, meeting with farmers, ranchers, and members of the agricultural community to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry. Conversations focused on expanding market access, strengthening rural economies, and ensuring producers have the tools to remain competitive on a global scale.

“Kansas is at the heart of American agriculture, and its farmers and ranchers play a critical role in feeding the world,” said Secretary Rollins. “The meaningful discussions I participated in over the last two days will help shape policies that support long-term success, not just for Midwest producers, but for agriculture across the country.”

On Monday, Secretary Rollins joined U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., and U.S. Representative Tracey Mann for a tour and roundtable discussion at High Plains Ponderosa Dairy in Plains, KS. Producers shared insights on the current economic landscape, regulatory concerns, and disaster assistance.

Secretary Rollins also visited Finney’s County Feeder in Garden City, where she observed feedlot operations firsthand.

Her third and final stop in Western Kansas was to the National Beef Packing Plant in Liberal, Kansas. Secretary Rollins participated in a tour of the facility and met with leaders and workers of the plant.

On Tuesday, Secretary Rollins participated in a fireside chat at the Top Producer Summit in Kansas City, MO, where she and Senator Marshall spoke with leading agricultural producers about international market expansion and the state of the farm economy.

Following the event, Secretary Rollins hosted a roundtable discussion with farmers spanning multiple states and sectors to discuss policy priorities for USDA.
