Treat Yourself to in-Person Seed Treatment Education

You are in for a treat at the Southwest Michigan Seed Treatment Workshop on Aug. 18, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Van Buren County MSU Extension office, 57418 Co Rd 681 Suite A, Hartford, MI 49057. This event will feature pesticide basics such as use rate calculations for batch treatment, personal protective equipment and storage and disposal of pesticides and treated seed.

Derrick Bracy of Bracy Ag Services will present on seed treater maintenance, calibration and common pitfalls. Manni Singh, Michigan State University Extension cropping systems agronomist, will share results from a recent study on soybean biological treatments. Marisol Quintanilla, Michigan State University (MSU) Extension nematologist, will cover soybean cyst nematode treatment options and efficacy.

The cost is $25 per person. Four restricted use pesticide (RUP) credits (core and category 4) and certified crop adviser (CCA) credits have been requested.

Register online by Aug. 11. This event may be canceled if pre-registration numbers are not high enough.
