UMaine Extension Offers Strawberry Jam and Fermenting Workshops at Frinklepod Farm

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering two food preservation workshops at Frinklepod Farm, 244 Log Cabin Road in Arundel. Preserving strawberries will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. and fermenting sauerkraut and kimchi will take place Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Canning and Preserving Strawberry Jam covers how to prepare and preserve strawberry jam, including methods for using less sugar. The instructor will teach safe preservation techniques for strawberries using both the boiling water bath canning method and freezing.
