USDA Released its weekly Crop Progress Report.

Highlights.

The USDA reports the U.S. winter wheat crop is in better shape this year than it was last year at this time.

In the first national condition rating of the year, as of Sunday, 44% of the winter crop is rated good to excellent, compared to 35% a year ago. However, large portions of the hard red winter growing region remain much drier than normal, while much of the soft red winter region has had a very wet spring.

56% of the U.S. reports adequate topsoil moisture and 60% reports adequate subsoil moisture.
