USDA Report: State's Crops Progressing at Average Pace

Most of South Dakota’s major crops are progressing nicely, according to the USDA’s latest crop report.

Over 75 percent of the state’s soybeans and corn crops are in good or excellent condition. Both are emerging at a rate close to the five-year average.

Small grains are developing at a similar pace. The report said spring and winter wheat, along with the oat crop, are heading out right around the average rate.
