USDA's $19 million boost to clean biofuels across 22 states

In a significant push for clean energy and rural economic growth, the Biden-Harris Administration is directing $19 million in funding to enhance access to domestic biofuels across 22 states. This strategic initiative, backed by President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, is designed to offer cost-effective biofuel choices for American consumers while boosting energy independence.

The Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) is the cornerstone of this initiative, providing grants to fueling station and distribution facility owners to facilitate the expansion of domestic biofuels accessibility. Noteworthy projects include Casey's installation of ethanol blend fuel dispensers at 111 fueling stations in five states, with the aim of increasing biofuel supply by an impressive 50 million gallons annually.

Piasa Enterprises Inc. in Illinois will utilize a $200,000 grant to elevate biodiesel sales by 2 million gallons per year, while AC&T Inc. in Maryland is set to expand ethanol supply by more than 106,000 gallons annually.

The funding extends across a diverse array of states, including Arizona, California, Florida, and Georgia, contributing significantly to America's energy independence and economic vitality. Since the inception of the Biden-Harris Administration, over $96 million has been invested nationwide to enhance biofuels accessibility, with Iowa receiving $11.6 million of that allocation.

The Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) has a pivotal role in empowering the biofuels industry. It facilitates infrastructure upgrades, encompassing fuel pumps, dispensers, and storage tanks, ultimately fostering energy independence, job creation, and revenue generation.

The Inflation Reduction Act, championed by the Biden-Harris Administration, stands as a cornerstone of their Investing in America agenda. This landmark legislation represents the largest-ever investment in combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

By financing renewable energy infrastructure and energy-efficient improvements, the act is propelling the nation toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
