Leaders to discuss Ag economy and policies

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has unveiled its lineup of speakers for the upcoming 101st Agricultural Outlook Forum, themed "Meeting Tomorrow’s Challenges, Today." This event, scheduled for February 27-28, 2025, promises to gather a distinguished roster of leaders to tackle pressing agricultural issues.

Jeff Schmid, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, is set to deliver a plenary speech focusing on the macroeconomic and monetary outlook from his vantage point overseeing the agriculturally rich Tenth District. His insights are highly anticipated given the district's significant stake in the agricultural sector.

Additionally, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen will share his strategic vision during the dinner speech, emphasizing his plans to position Nebraska at the forefront of the biobased economy while enhancing agricultural productivity within the state.

The forum will host a comprehensive program, including a vital presentation by USDA Chief Economist Seth Meyer on the 2025 outlook for U.S. agriculture and trade. Over 30 breakout sessions will further explore topics such as commodity pricing, global trade dynamics, climate change mitigation, and biotechnological innovations.

Held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va., the forum facilitates both in-person attendance and virtual participation, ensuring broad accessibility. To register or learn more about the forum, attendees are encouraged to visit the Agricultural Outlook Forum webpage.

This initiative is part of the USDA's broader efforts under the current administration to foster a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable food system. For more insights into the USDA's transformative actions, visit www.usda.gov.
