The Jura Ranch is in the Similkameen Valley

A ranch larger than the city of Prince George, B.C. and its roughly 78,000 acres is up for auction.

CLHbid.com is auctioning the Jura Ranch and its 83,698 total acres (2,625 deeded + 81,073 leased) in May with a starting bid of $4.29 million.

“The ranch offers rich soil that is high in organic matter, abundant water, miles of fencing and cross-fencing, an impressive ranch headquarters, and an incredible view of the Three Brothers Mountain,” the listing says, adding the soil is easily workable and provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for plant growth.

The current owners, Rob and Kelly Lamoureux, started farming in Alberta. Then they moved to Australia, spending 30 years ranching there before moving back to Canada in 2018 and bringing what they learned down under to their Canadian operation to support the ranch and their Jura Grassfed beef and lamb business.

On the May 12 auction date, interested buyers may be able to purchase livestock from the family.

“Meaning not only will (the buyers) benefit from carrying on this spectacular line of genetics, but they will also inherit the incredible reputation that Jura Grassfed has built,” the auction listing says.

The ranch also has a customer base of about 170 people.

“It is rare for a buyer to have an opportunity to purchase a ranch that includes the livestock, plus inherit an existing customer base. 'The Jura Ranch' could truly be turn-key,” the CLH listing says.

In addition, an optional equipment package is available for $254,500.

The pieces of available machinery include:

  • A John Deere 5125R tractor
  • A John Deere 2150 tractor
  • A John Deere 3pt ripper
  • A Hustler X500 round and square bale processor
  • A Horst 4-wheel wagon

?? The Multi-Plant System Processing 20 Million Hogs Annually in the Midwest JBS USA operates multiple large-scale pork processing facilities across the Midwest, including major plants in Iowa, Minnesota, and Indiana. Combined, these facilities have the capacity to process approximately 20 million hogs annually.

Each plant operates high-speed automated slaughter systems capable of processing up to 20,000 head per day, followed by fabrication lines that break carcasses into primals, sub-primals, and case-ready retail products.

Hog procurement is coordinated through electronic marketing platforms that connect regional contract finishing operations and independent producers to plant demand schedules. This digital procurement system allows for steady supply flow and scheduling efficiency across multiple facilities.

Processing plants incorporate comprehensive food safety systems, including pathogen intervention technologies, rapid chilling processes, and integrated cold-chain management. USDA inspection is embedded throughout the harvest and fabrication stages to ensure regulatory compliance and product integrity. Finished pork products — from bulk primals to retail-ready packaged cuts — are distributed through coordinated logistics networks serving domestic and export markets.
