New platform improves access to swine research and industry knowledge
Canada’s pork industry has introduced the Pork Research Hub, a new national platform designed to improve access to research, innovation and practical knowledge for people working across the sector.
The platform was created through a partnership involving Swine Innovation Porc, Prairie Swine Centre, the Centre de développement du porc du Québec and the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement. Together, these organizations work to develop a centralized resource that supports producers, researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders.
The Pork Research Hub brings together a wide range of information in one bilingual online location. Users can access research articles, technical resources, factsheets, videos, webinars, podcasts and innovation stories related to the swine industry. By combining these materials on a single platform, the Hub aims to make valuable information easier to find and use.
The website is organized into two main sections. The Resource Library offers a searchable collection of research papers, technical documents, and practical tools. The Research in Action section highlights the real-world impact of industry research through articles, videos, webinars, podcasts, and success stories.
Industry leaders say the Hub will help strengthen knowledge sharing and support informed decision-making. The platform was developed to connect scientific research with practical on-farm applications, making it easier for producers and other industry members to benefit from new discoveries and innovations.
“SIP brought partners together to build the Pork Research Hub because research has the greatest value when it is easy to find, easy to use and connected to action. This platform gives Canada’s pork sector a stronger foundation to share knowledge and put it to work,” said Daniel Ramage, General Manager of Swine Innovation Porc (SIP).
“Collaboration and knowledge sharing are essential to advancing innovation in Canada’s pork sector. The Pork Research Hub creates new opportunities to connect researchers, producers and industry partners while improving access to bilingual resources and practical information that can support producers across the country,” said Jacques Faucher, General Manager of Centre de développement du porc du Québec (CDPQ).
“Canada’s pork sector is driven by innovation, data and genetics. The Pork Research Hub provides an important national platform to share that knowledge at scale. By making research and technical resources more accessible, the Hub will drive continuous improvement and help the sector stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry,” said Brian Sullivan, CEO of Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement (CCSI).
