Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show kicked off this week in Woodstock, Ont., drawing in thousands of visitors within the first two days of the three day event. With more than 750 exhibitors showcasing the latest in farming equipment and machinery, advanced agricultural products, and innovative technologies, the annual event continues to be a hit with farmers, ranchers and agricultural professionals from across North America.

Some of the most popular features of this year’s show include the equipment demos - like the corn silage harvesting demo, the silage baling demo, the cover crop tillage demo, the lagoon crawler demo, tempo planter demo, and the manure spill demo. Toyota also brought back their popular test drive, where attendees can get behind the wheel of the brand new 2015 Toyota Tundra or Tacoma and take it out on the open road for a spin. Ram Truck also offers visitors a chance to try out some 2014 RAM models, including the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500. New to the show this year is the Skid Steer Ride’n’Drive, where farmers can try out several brands and models of skid steers and really put them to the test.

There are plenty of livestock demos too. This year’s show features the annual Hi-Hog Cattle Handling and Tru-Test Weigh Scales demo, which is led by the experts from Hi-Hog and Kane Vet, plus the Interactive Sheep demos found at Livestock Central.  Visitors can also learn new tips and tricks to plan a rotational grazing system and better use pasture grazing equipment. The Dairy Innovation Centre (DIC) is the place to be to see the DeLaval Voluntary Milking System & Lely Astronaut A4 Milking System in action.

With hundreds of exhibitors, there’s something for everyone to see and enjoy at the 21st annual Outdoor Farm Show. The show runs September 9, 10, and 11, 2014 and is open from 8:30am to 5pm. Admission is $17 for adults, $5 for children (6 – 17) and free for children under the age of 6. Parking is free for all visitors.
